Research and development of new carbon materials for tribology, the aim of which is a new composition structure of the material, as well as granulometric composition of microstructure, conditions of input materials processing, new technology of preparation of such material. A result of this research is a new carbon material with higher physical and mechanical properties and a longer lifetime in tribological applications. The research also includes monitoring of quality of the interface between the filler and the matrix and clarifying the interaction of present phases to change of physical properties of the carbon material.
